Someone who has influenced the way I see the World

T. Harv Eker

T. Harv Eker, the author of the best selling book, secrets of the Millionaire mind. For the longest time in my 41 years of existence, I was unaware of my own blueprint. Through his book, I was able to snap out of the bondage of the old blueprint with which I was unconsciously living for the longest time.

According to Harv, everyone of us has our our blueprint which influences the way we think, decide, do thing and see the world. He admonished that rich and poor people have totally opposite views of the world. And those views have been brought about by the person's life experiences and influences as he grows up to adulthood and old age.

As I was born and raised in a poor family, I viewed the world from the perspective of a poor man. Until I stumbled upon Harv's work, I didn't know that my poor mindset is one of the reasons why I am where I am right now.

Harv's book was like heaven sent to me. With it, I became aware of the causes of my present situation and I learned the ways on how to change my present situation and my destiny.

Right now, I am on the way to independence and finally correct the course that I was taking in the game of life.

Toy Fads from my childhood days

Voltez V. The robot which captivated the hearts of many 70's children. I can vividly remember I was in grade school then and when my classmates brings with them a 12" tall Voltez V. I am literally drooling in envy. As we were very poor that time, trying to buy that toy is like sacrificing our family's food for an entire month. We were so poor that I contented myself with watching that robot in the display window of our small community store whenever I had the chance.

That toy was the ultimate dream for every kid of my age that time. We spent long hours watching the animated TV series of Voltez V. had it been a food, we literally chew it from breakfast till dinner. That's how loco we where. Even just having a t-shirt with the voltez V picture on it is already considered cool.

I remember sometime during the late 1990's and early 2000 some crazy thirty something people of my age born on that Voltez V era actually thought of and tried to revive the childhood fantasy. But as time would have its way. it did not pick up and eventually the dream vanished silently behind the noise and hype of later model transformers, gundams and other modern robot icons of the internet era.

The famous adage that time was....Let's Volt In!

Books vs Movies: Which is better?

Avatar Books

Yes, the book is always better than the movies with the exception of the spectacular sights and sounds in the movies.

The book is better in the sense that my imagination is the one feeding me with the imagery and the appearance of the characters.

When reading a book, we have the power to create the settings and the characters whereas in the movies, we have no control over it.

We can also make ourselves become the main character in the book that we are reading thus we can be magically transported to places that we have never been.

The book and movies cannot be compared and both have their own ways of stimulating our imaginations. If I am made to choose, I'll choose both!

What I worry about

Success

Nothing! As long as I have a clear vision of my dreams and what I want to achieve. These obstacles that I am encountering right now are just temporary, Time will come when this failures and defeats will become just a thing of the past.

What I need to do is learn well from my failures and mistakes. It helps me grow and as long as God is with me, nothing will make me worry.

My Pets

Blue Fighter Fish

I have three gold fish and one blue fish they call "fighting fish". The blue fish is kept solo on a separate aquarium or fish bowl because according to the guy on the pet store where I bought it, said fish attacks other fish when mingled with others on a single aquarium. And it won't stop until it kills everybody inside the aquarium.

I really did not see the fighting fish actually attacking other fish because I really don't want to try it out with my precious gold fish which was with me for 10 months already. Maybe when those three gold fish becomes bad will I try mingling them with the bad blue fish.

Do you have a fighting fish and seen it in action attacking other fish?

On Public Speaking

Steve Jobs

I dreaded it way back during my student days. I remember saying you should kill me first before you can make me speak in front of a crowd.

When I was already working and got exposed to the management team of the company I worked for. I started to admire the managers and executives in their ability to speak in front of many people.

I admire so much the presentation and public speaking skills of many of the world's leaders in politics and industry. My admiration of them changed my outlook about public speaking and I am now finding myself imagining how it is like to be speaking front of so many people.

I know I can also do public speaking but I have one handicap which prevents me from doing so. I easily get distracted by the crowd and I tend to lose focus every time.

I hope someday I could be able to deliver a speech or a presentation before a huge crowd and not be fazed by anything.

I love great speakers and I like to emulate them.
